Debbie grew up in Birmingham, Alabama on her parents’ horse farm riding horses, foxhunting and competing in Hunter Jumpers, Combined Training and Pony Club. She is a Graduate A Pony Clubber. Debbie left Alabama to attend Sullins College and later the University of Kentucky. In Kentucky she married, taught riding and was a District Commissioner of Keeneland Pony Club. In 1981 she and her husband, Tom, moved to The Plains, Virginia to raise their family.
Over the years she worked as a bookkeeper and Administrative Assistant with various companies in Middleburg eventually leading her into the Marketing and Advertising position at Thomas and Talbot Real Estate.
