Catherine A. Bernache
A native of upstate New York she also spent time growing up in Ottawa, Canada where she first began riding at the age of 5. She moved with her family to Virginia in 1971 and then settled in Middleburg in 1976 to continue working with Thoroughbreds for many of the local trainers. A native of Belgium, Rein attended The Classic Humanities at the Cathedral School of St.Bavo in Ghent. She is a graduate of the Lycee Royal de Laeken, in Brussels, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She is multilingual. Rein spent 20 years as a Foreign Service spouse and has three children. She was a faculty member, teaching intermediate French, at Ohio University (Athens) and at the Foreign Service Institute (total immersion French) in Washington, D.C. After moving to the Middleburg area, in 1984, she became a wine broker for Virginia wineries. In 1993, Rein obtained her Realtor’s License. Cary H. Embury
A graduate of Powhatan School in Boyce, National Cathedral School, and UNC-Chapel Hill with a BA in English, Cary has spent most of her life in the Piedmont of Virginia as a professional horsewoman, and, as of 2009, selling real estate. She is a Clarke County native with deep roots, and a firm commitment to land preservation to the extent of putting her own farm in easement. Rebecca Jarrett Poston
Grew up on a farm at Tysons Corner, Virginia when Tysons was farmland. She graduated from Bridgewater College with a degree in Business Administration in 1974. In 1977 became licensed in Real Estate Sales in Virginia, D.C. and Maryland, earning her Real Estate Brokers’ License in 1987. In 1992 she went on inactive status after having a daughter and wanting to be home with her. She has built and restored homes. Her husband’s company, Old Meadow, LLC specializes in the restoration and remodeling of homes.

Was born and raised on a farm in California. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley and received her law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of Law in 1983. She was an associate with the law firm, Gibson, Dunn and Crutcher and maintains her active California law license. Upon visiting the Virginia countryside for the annual Hunt Country Stable Tour, this lifelong equestrian knew this was the place to raise her family and more actively pursue her passion for fox hunting and cross country riding. Debbie grew up in Birmingham, Alabama on her parents’ horse farm riding horses, foxhunting and competing in Hunter Jumpers, Combined Training and Pony Club. She is a Graduate A Pony Clubber. Debbie left Alabama to attend Sullins College and later the University of Kentucky. In Kentucky she married, taught riding and was a District Commissioner of Keeneland Pony Club. In 1981 she and her husband, Tom, moved to The Plains, Virginia to raise their family.
Over the years she worked as a bookkeeper and Administrative Assistant with various companies in Middleburg eventually leading her into the Marketing and Advertising position at Thomas and Talbot Real Estate. She has volunteered with the Middleburg Spring Races, The Middleburg Community Center and currently President of The Plains Community League.
